Netflix trailer: Mr. Robot creator previews his new paranoid thriller starring Julia Roberts

It will be loaded on Netflix at the end of the year. In December, Netflix subscribers will be spoiled by the blockbuster Rebel Moon, the series that stems from La Casa de Papel Berlin, and The World After Us, which is revealed in the first trailer.

Adapted from Rumaan Alam’s novel of the same name, the film by Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) follows Amanda and her husband Clay as they rent a luxurious house for the weekend with their children. But their vacation is soon interrupted by the arrival of two strangers who say they are at home and talk about a mysterious cyber attack. Faced with an imminent disaster that grows more terrifying by the minute, everyone must find their place in a world in total collapse.

The first images are both attractive and intriguing. What is this threat that weighs? What is their role in this matter? At first glance, The World After Us is a classic post-apocalyptic thriller. But readers of Rumaan Alam know that this dystopia is not really a dystopia. The author uses the genre to tell a more human story. Although these two families have to live together without knowing what is happening outside, suspicion, fear and panic gradually creep into their heads. Then everything goes to the personal level…

Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon are among the cast of the event, which is scheduled to hit Netflix on December 8.
