A cold front passes between Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo and, together with the heat, contributes to forming heavy clouds within the South-East and Central-West.
According to measurements by Cemaden (National Center for Monitoring and Warning in the event of Natural Disasters), Goiás was the state that had the most rain in the last 12 hours, between around 3.30pm on 10/2 and 3.30am on 3/ 10: 48.6 mm Uruana/GO, 48.4 mm Novo Gama/GO, 45.2 mm Pirenópolis/GO, 41.4 mm Ceres/GO
Dry air predominates over the northeast and much of northern Brazil, inhibiting the growth of large clouds and the occurrence of rain.
New zones of instability will emerge in southern Brazil on Tuesday due to the influence of a strong atmospheric depression that will intensify over Paraguay.

Southern region
New areas of instability are spreading in southern Brazil due to the strong atmospheric depression that intensifies over Paraguay.
In most inland areas of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul the sun appears in the morning, cloud cover increases throughout the day and rain showers with lightning occur in the afternoon and evening. In the south-west of Paraná, in the west of Santa Catarina, in the centre, west and north-west of Rio Grande do Sul, the first rain showers began in the morning. In these areas there is a risk of thunderstorms.
In eastern Paraná the sun appears between many clouds and it can rain at night. In the east/northeast of Santa Catarina, including the coast and the Itajaí valley, the day continues with sun and some clouds, but no rain is expected
In the eastern part of Rio Grande do Sul, including Porto Alegre, the sun appears and moderate rains are expected.
South-eastern region
Areas of instability still affect the South-East Region, associated with a cold front passing between Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. There are rain conditions in all states.
On the coast of São Paulo there are periods with sunshine among many clouds and it can rain lightly at any time. In the Greater SP region, Sorocaba and southern São Paulo, the sun appears several times in the morning and there may be light rain. In the center, north and west of the state, the weather is sunny most of the day and rain showers with lightning that may be moderate to heavy in the afternoon and evening.
In the state of Rio de Janeiro there are periods with sunshine among many clouds and it can rain lightly in the early hours and in the morning.
In Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, rain showers with lightning are expected at any time, but with some clearing, with many clouds. There is a risk of moderate to heavy rain in Minas, except in the Zona da Mata and on the border with Vale do Paraíba (SP). In the center and south of Espírito Santo, heavy thunderstorms/rain may occur in the early hours of the morning.
Midwest Region
Warm, moist air spread over the Midwest and clouds formed throughout the day.
The sun predominates and it doesn’t rain only in the far central-west of Mato Grosso do Sul, in the far north and west of Mato Grosso, on the border with Bolivia.
For the other areas of Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, in the Federal District, throughout the state of Goiás, periods of sunshine and showers with lightning are expected mainly in the afternoon and at night. Some hits can be moderate to strong in intensity.
North-East Region
Dry air predominates over the Northeast and hinders the formation and growth of large clouds. Virtually all of the Northeast has a day with lots of sunshine, heat, low humidity in the air and no conditions for rain.
On the coast of Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte and Paraíba the sun comes out and it rains quickly.
In the south and south-west of Bahia there are rain showers in the afternoon and night, which may be moderate to heavy. Temporary rain is expected on the southern coast of Bahia.
Northern Region
The sun appears strong in the Northern Region, but some heavy clouds form due to the presence of moist and warm air.
In the center, south and east of Amapá, in Pará, in the Tocantins, in the east, center and far west of the Amazon, the sun predominates and it does not rain.
Even in Acre, in Rondônia, in the south and central-north of the Amazon and in Roraima the day is very sunny, but with isolated rain showers in the afternoon or evening.

Watch out for moderate to heavy rain in the capitals Vitória, Belo Horizonte, Goiânia, Brasília, Cuiabá.
Thunderstorm warning, with risk of wind gusts up to 70 km/h in the south-west of Paraná, west of Santa Catarina, in the centre-west and north-west of Rio Grande do Sul and in the centre-south of Espírito Santo (warning at early morning and early morning).
