The 31st round of the Serie B of the Brazilian championship began on Tuesday with the clash between Mirassol and Londrina, at the Campos Maia stadium. The Sao Paulo team won 2-0, with a brace from striker Zé Roberto, and achieved their best result in the competition this season.
With three consecutive victories, Mirassol has risen to seventh place in the competition, with 49 points, four less than Guarani, who opens the G4. At the end of the group, however, the home team can still climb back to ninth place. The team’s next match will be Tuesday, at 9.30pm (Brasilia time), against ABC, in Frasqueirão.
Londrina, on the other hand, is getting even more complicated in the fight against relegation. The team remained in penultimate place, with 24 points. With Tuesday’s defeat, the Paraná team can close the group seven points from the defeat of Z4. The next match will be against Avaí, at the Estádio do Café, at 6.30pm next Sunday, the 15th.

Mirassol opened the scoring with just 9 minutes of ball rolling. From the byline on the right, Gabriel crosses hard to the far post. Zé Roberto intervenes and manages to deflect from close range and score the home team’s first goal. In the 19th minute, the attacker scores again, after earning a penalty. The number 9 moves the goalkeeper with great class and fills the net with a touch into the left corner.
