Tonight on TV: A romantic comedy set against 4 Weddings and 1 Funeral

After the incredible success of Four Weddings and a Funeral ($244 million worldwide on a $6 million budget!), producer Duncan Kenworth, director of photography Michael Coulter, and screenwriter Richard Curtis are coming together for a new project.

Director Mike Newell was also approached, but the latter preferred to devote himself to Les Aiguilleurs, so his position was given to Roger Michell.

A specialist in 100% British romantic comedies, Richard Curtis works his magic once again imagining the love story of Hollywood’s most famous actress, Anna Scott, and William Thacker, a modest local bookseller from Notting Hill, west of London.

The queen of self-deprecation, Julia Roberts, responds to another specialist in the genre: the British Hugh Grant (who was also on the poster. Four weddings and a funeral).

It’s hard not to melt in front of their alchemy, dream of driving down Portobello Road, dream of hearing the iconic dialogue, or laugh at the hilarious supporting cast (Rhys Ifans at the top!).

Made on a budget of $42 million, Love at First Sight grossed nearly $364 million worldwide when it was released in Notting Hill in 1999. It is Hugh Grant’s biggest commercial success and Julia Roberts’ third after Pretty Woman (463 million) and Ocean’s. Eleven (450 million).

Love at first sight in Notting Hill Roger Michell with Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, Richard McCabe…

Tonight on TMC at 9:25 PM.
