Fantasy and action on Netflix: what is Yu Yu Hakusho?

The anime Yu Yu Hakusho was originally published from 1992 to 1995, at the same time as Dragon Ball Z – and has 112 episodes. It was written by mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi (husband of the creator of Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi). The fantasy action story is a highlight of the Shonen genre, but unfortunately it is quite unknown in some countries.

Brazil was the first Western country to broadcast the anime after its debut in Japan. The series had a peak of popularity in the 90s thanks to Rede Manchete, being shown in a block with Knights of the Zodiacand had reruns on channels such as Rede TV, Band and Play TV.
