With an original 4-hour cut, director Ridley Scott intends to release ‘Napoleão’ in theaters beforehand
Napoleon (2023), starring Joaquin Phoenix, impresses with its 158-minute runtime – but the historical epic will still have an extended version with a streaming release to accompany its theatrical release. The film is set to be released in theaters on November 22, ahead of a streaming release on Apple TV+.
In an interview with the website TotalFilmthe director Ridley Scott stated that the editing work on the extended cut has not yet been completed (via CBR).
“I’m working on it. There were four [horas] and 10 [minutos] this morning,” the filmmaker said of the current status of the extended cut. “And then what’s going to happen is we’re going to show [a versão convencional] first with Sony, and then it will be shown, and then the perfect thing is that [a versão do diretor] go to streaming, and we have four hours and 10 minutes.”
