Tonight on TV: If you’re looking for a French Bridget Jones, here she is!

When producer Romain Reutman offered to adapt the comics Josephine Agnes Obadiah, the director of Penelope Baguier, admits that she does not know her.

So she looks at this huge success in bookstores (three volumes sold almost 150,000 copies), which reflects Josephine’s daily worries. Single for almost 30 years (but not yet), she finds a Brazilian suitor when her sister announces her marriage. A small lie that will lead him into a whirlwind of adventures…

An allusion immediately appears to Agnes Obadiah: Bridget Jones. A true phenomenon of the 2000s, this modern retelling of the novel Pride and Prejudice The dynamic Renee Zellweger embodied the character of the “lonely woman” in the eyes of the general public – at once a blue flower, attractive and terribly obscure.

Released in 2013, Josephine thus adopts the same romantic comedy codes and focuses primarily on Marilou Berry’s energetic performance in the title role. With a huge investment, the actor also transformed his body thanks to a diet that made him lose weight, in addition to sporting prosthetics that allowed him to match his character’s famous hourglass silhouette.

On the screen, Marilou Berry is surrounded by actors as funny as the comedian Berenger Krief, who the public discovered in the excellent series Brief, who takes her first steps in the cinema here, or Mehdi Nebibu, the future hero of the HPI series.

Josephine Agnes Obadiah with Marilu Berry, Mehdi Nebibu, Berenger Krief…
