Satellite images show the shadow of moon move Earth and arriving in Brazil during Annular solar eclipse Saturday 14. Anyone in nine Northern and Northeastern states can follow the astronomical phenomenon.

An eclipse occurs when the Moon aligns between the Earth and the Sun. In the case of the ring finger, since the natural satellite is further from the Earth, it cannot entirely cover the solar disk, so a sort of “ring of fire” is created ” .

The cancellation was visible in ten countries: United States, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Brazil. In other parts of the Americas, from Alaska to Argentina, a partial eclipse could be observed.

Weather satellites from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have captured the movement of the Moon’s shadow.

The phenomenon “arrived” in Brazil around 3pm. The annular band passed through Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Tocantins, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte. Only two capitals saw the cancellation: Natal (Rio Grande do Norte) and João Pessoa (Paraíba). In the rest of Brazil, only a partial eclipse could be observed.

In Sao Paulo, cloudy skies, cold temperatures below 20ºC and drizzle that had been falling since the start of the day frustrated the plans of Sao Paulo residents to even partially see the solar eclipse. That doesn’t mean they haven’t tried to exploit the phenomenon in other ways. In the east area, the Parque do Carmo he improvised a live broadcast in the planetarium that filled the screening room.
