Money and Blood on Canal+: This central character never existed

On Monday, October 16, Canal+ offers its subscribers the opportunity to discover a new event of original creation D’Argent et de Sang. This fiction edited by Xavier Gianoli (Lost Illusions) tells the story of how a trader and two crooks team up to create a scam thanks to the booming financial market for “carbon allowances” in 2008 and 2009.

This character that didn’t exist…

Based on Fabre Harp’s investigative book of the same name, the series stars Vincent Lyndon, Niels Schneider, Ramsay Bedia, Judith Chemla, David Ayala, Olga Kurylenko, Lies Kuah in this highly successful project. Ivan Attal or even Andre Marconi.

But one of the main characters of this story never actually existed! It’s even about one of the main characters: Simon Weinachter, played perfectly by Vincent Lyndon. Also, why did Xavier Gianoli create this brilliant investigator with a firm grip on criminals?

“If he gets it, everybody gets it!”

At the press conference, the filmmaker explained:This character is nurtured by the investigative characters involved in the case and my concerns. It’s also a way for me to be in the story.

This means that he is fascinated by the depravity and madness of these boys who take everything away (…) he is amazed to see it and at the same time, he is not complacent. So we accompany Vincent and his characterXavier Gianoli summarizes.

Simon Weinachter uses the image of a labyrinth, and this is it: we are always with him, following him in the technical understanding and psychological and social research of all these characters.

The director also revealed about the actor who portrays the magistrate: “Vincent Lyndon, in life, he is like this: he always wants things to be done. In a very natural, fleshed-out and organic way, the fact that he’s the one playing this role means that we follow the character in his investigation and we understand. If he gets it, everyone gets it!
