The live-action film “One Punch Man” is in development

The manga, anime and game “One Punch Man” is about to reach another medium and will be adapted into a live-action film developed by Sony Pictures.

According to Deadline, Justin Lin of “The Fast and the Furious” will direct the film, with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner as writers and Avi and Ari Arad in production alongside Lin. Furthermore, it was revealed that the intention is already to start production at the end of this year.

The publication also states that the studio focuses on this film starting from the concept that it will be the beginning of a franchise.

One Punch Man is a superhero based on the manga of the same name. The story is a combination of action, comedy and satire, which also mimics several such figures. The central concept of the story is quite simple: Saitama, the hero of the story, is so strong that he can defeat any opponent with a single punch.

However, this ease of beating his opponents causes an existential crisis in One Punch Man, after all no one is able to challenge him.

So unlike common stories in the hero genre, the viewer ends up hoping more that someone will be able to challenge One Punch Man and end their boredom, rather than simply hoping that good always wins and evil is defeated. with ease, as you might expect.

The anime has had some success based on the absurdity of this concept and the film should try to replicate this problem. Will One Punch Man finally find a worthy opponent?

With filming not yet started and no casting information confirmed, “One Punch Man” doesn’t have a release date yet.

The anime “One Punch Man” is available on Netflix.
