Known for his role in ‘Jurassic Park’, Sam Neill revealed cancer in March this year
Sam Neillknown for playing Alan Grant in the franchise Jurassic Park, revealed in March this year that he was diagnosed with cancer (T-cell angioimmunoblastic lymphoma). He has been in remission for about a year thanks to the infusion, which he does every two weeks, of a specific medication. According to doctors, however, the medicine will not be effective soon, he said in an interview with Australia Story (via Variety).
The actor underwent chemotherapy for three months, but the treatment was unsuccessful. Therefore, he started taking a rare cancer medication. Neill stated that his body’s response to the infusions is “dark and depressing”, but it is what “keeps him alive”. He also confessed that he is not afraid, “not even remotely”, of dying: “I’m prepared for that.” The idea of stopping acting, however, “fills him with horror”.
