Furthermore, the verticalization of meat production can increase the quality and sustainability of the sector

The search for sustainable solutions in the sector agriculture has become increasingly urgent, and Brazil has found in product traceability beef a powerful tool for fighting registration and promote significant improvements in agro-industrial processes. Furthermore, the increase in verticalization of beef production, as in chicken production, emerges as a positive reality for increasing the quality and sustainability of the sector.

Beef traceability has the potential to be the link between the desire to reduce carbon footprints and the need to combat deforestation, and Brazil already has some of the best domestic tools for doing so. Through the use of advanced technologies, such as identification and monitoring systems, producers are trained and included in the entire production cycle, making more informed and responsible decisions.

Furthermore, as happened for example in the chicken and pork supply chains, the verticalization of beef production can optimize the sector.

According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) from 2017, there are more than 2.55 million farms that have the potential to play an essential role in building a more sustainable sector. By integrating the entire production chain, from creation to slaughter, it is possible to guarantee more efficient control, ensure product quality and promote sustainable use of the territory. This approach brings benefits both to producers, who have greater safety and control over the process, and to consumers, who can enjoy quality meat, produced responsibly.

It is important to underline that the traceability of beef must be seen as a positive measure for all players in the sector. It is an educational tool that offers valuable information on the production cycle and allows producers to improve their practices, promoting more sustainable production in harmony with the environment.

In this scenario, it is essential that the sector continues to invest in the traceability of beef and in the promotion of vertical integration. These measures will not only help reduce deforestation, but will also strengthen Brazil’s image as a producer committed to sustainability and environmental preservation.
