Uruguay x Brazil: where to watch it, times and lineups

The Brazilian team will visit the celestial team this Tuesday for the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

A Brazilian team takes to the field this Tuesday, at 9pm, to recover the prestige lost with the stumble against Venezuela in the last round of the South American qualifiers from the World Cup 2026. Cuiabá’s equalizer ended a series of more accessible opponents for Brazil. By the end of the year Fernando Diniz’s men will have Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina. Against the Uruguayans, at the Estadio Centenário in Montevideo, the Brazilians will face an opponent who will also have to improve their results.

The expectation is that Brazil will have more space to explore and rediscover good football. The Uruguayan team tried to draw 2-2 against Colombia with the lights out last Thursday. At home, the team led by Argentine Marcelo Bielsa has the mission of obtaining its second victory in the qualifiers. Therefore, they must launch more attacks to end a long taboo against Brazilians.

The last time Brazil lost to Uruguay was in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers. On that occasion, in July 2001, the Brazilian team was defeated 1-0. Since then, 12 duels have been played (including Qualifiers, Copa América, Confederations Cup and friendlies), with seven victories for the yellow-greens and five draws.

The Brazilian team is in second place in the qualifiers, with seven points, two less than the current world champion, Argentina. Uruguay is in fourth place, with just four points more. Six South American countries will participate in the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The seventh-placed team will still play in the intercontinental playoffs.
