Based on Arthurian legends, the Knights of the Round Table and the Grail Quest, the film is a model of the genre, ranking 5th in Time Out London’s 100 Best Comedies. – among others – and is often quoted in television, film or popular culture in general.
As evidence, Alexandre Astier has always claimed that Monty Python: Sacred Grail! was his bed movie to create the Kaamelott series.
