The influencer suffers from anxiety and fears the reaction of his followers to every position
“I was much more dedicated, open, I could be more like Rafa and today I find myself avoiding saying too much to save my mental health.”
The reflection comes from the digital influencer Rafa Kalimann, who decided to share with his followers his perception of the dynamics of attacks that permeate social networks. The impetus was precisely the criticism you received after reading a report by Clarice Lispector on Monday (16).
“People didn’t read the text, they didn’t hear what I was saying. They didn’t have the slightest interest in interpreting it and I’m receiving dozens of messages criticizing me deeply because, in the text, you use Jesus as an example of good faith”, he said. Rafa underlined in the sequence of stories shared on Instagram on Tuesday (17).
As I have stated in other situations, the impact of these attacks is on your mental health. The influencer suffers from anxiety. “Why can’t I, in fact, profoundly, be more like Rafa here on social media? And look, Rafa today is much more interesting than Rafa years ago,” he wondered.
Panic syndrome affects famous people; how to treat?
Currently 30 years old, he has a long career in the digital influencer market. In 2020 he participated in the first edition of “Big Brother Brazil” with famous people, which earned him even more fame at a national level.
“Why before could I say everything, expose everything, simply be myself? Why is it so difficult for me today? Why has it become a burden of fear, anguish, anxiety? Because it gives me anxiety every time I express an opinion, it doesn’t matter How simple could it be?”
For Rafa there is at least one element that explains what has led social networks to transform into such a bellicose environment. She bet on the tool that allowed her to “like” comments, which, in her opinion, meant that many users perceived the resource as a new way to gain notoriety.
“Sometimes I get harsh, forceful criticism on my Instagram. I see the same criticism copied and pasted on Instagram and from other people. So you can see what it’s like to get attention. And, sometimes, that creates a habit because people people normalize: “if I see so much criticism, I can criticize”. What happens? Take this, go up [para os comentários em destaque no post]attracts more attention and normalizes it”, he explains, lamenting the futile and superficial path that dominates the digital sphere today.
Dance as a source of relief
In addition to anxiety, Rafa Kaliman suffers from panic syndrome. In April, during the “Dança dos Famosos” on “Domingão com Huck”, she emphasized how much her physical activity has helped her recovery.
“It activated something here, inside me, that was very precious. To launch myself, to think of something new… To challenge myself and, in my head, everything changes. So, I didn’t have panic attacks [desde então]” he reported at the time.
Classified as one of the types of anxiety disorder, the syndrome is characterized by the appearance of sudden and intense episodes of fear or physical discomfort. The psychiatrists interviewed by Terra on the occasion underlined that dance in itself cannot be considered a psychological treatment. But since mental health problems require multidisciplinary treatment, regular physical activity plays an important role in the process.
