This Saturday (21st), the United States GP Sprint race took place, won by the unstoppable Max Verstappen. The Dutchman had achieved pole position in the Sprint classification a few hours ago and at the end of this Saturday the three-time champion took victory in the short race.
At the start Verstappen maintained the lead after a nice duel at the first corner with Leclerc, who ended up being overtaken by Hamilton. A little further back, Sainz had a nice duel against the McLaren duo and overtook them both.
With Hamilton second and the DRS open, the Briton had a few opportunities to step up the duel, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity. At the bottom of the top 10, Piastri was overtaken by several drivers and Gasly completed the overtaking package.
At the start of the race, Russell overtook Piastri off the track and after a check by the FIA, the Briton was given a five-second penalty. A little further ahead, his teammate failed to give chase to Verstappen and saw the Dutchman build up a lead of more than two seconds in some laps.
In the fight for fourth place, Norris attempted to overtake Sainz, but the Spaniard defended himself and regained the position with the full X movement. Subsequently, the young Briton attempted to overtake again and the operation was successful.
After losing position to Norris, Sainz was overtaken by Pérez and followed Russell in the final laps, due to the soft tires chosen by Ferrari for the Spanish driver.
