Canal+ continues to broadcast tonight its new Original Creation D’Argent et de Sang this Monday, October 23, from 21:09. Directed by Xavier Giannoli (Lost Illusions), this highly successful and addictive fiction is based on the detective book of the same name written by Fabrice Arfi.
Niels Schneider as an unscrupulous trader
In this crazy but very real story, the community follows the journey of a trader and two fraudsters who team up in 2008-2009 to run a scam thanks to the booming financial market of “carbon allowances”. Meanwhile, a determined investigator (who never really existed!) is on their trail to get them off their dangerous path…
In the credits of the series D’Argent et Sang, we meet the stars of the film Vincent Lyndon, Ramsay Bedia, Judith Chemla, David Ayala, Olga Kurylenko, Lies Cua, Ivan Attali, Andre Marconi and Nils Schneider. During the press conference, the latter also returned to his character, trader Jerome Attias.
“I was trying to understand my character”
The 36-year-old actor shared his perception of the character he plays brilliantly: “The intelligence of the script, of course, condemns these characters. I never tried to love Jerome Attias. On the other hand, I was trying to understand.“
“He commits heinous acts, he destroys everything in his path, but this is a person who is beyond sad, almost depressing. He is a Dostoevsky character, he is lost– says Nils Schneider. He doesn’t even know where the truth is or lies. He no longer has any attitude, and that makes him pathetic, not just evil.“
The actor (who praised Vincent Lyndon’s performance alongside Ramsay Bedia) continued his analysis shortly afterwards: “What cheaters experience is an illusion. Money, flashy… where does it go? It runs completely empty. There is always a need for more, it is insatiable.“
“These are not characters who could say, “All I wanted was a car or a house for my family, and now I’m stopping.” No. It’s a headlong rush, endless. It’s obscene, I hated it“- explained Nils Schneider. A descent into hell, the rest of which you can discover tonight in the excellent series D’argent et de Sang, from 21:09 on Canal+.
