Candidates say they will have to attend schools far from home; The body administering the exam says it will take measures to ensure everyone takes the test according to regulations
After complaints from candidates registered with the National high school exam (Enem) this year, regarding the distance between their addresses and the place where the test will be administered, the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), responsible for the exam, reported in a note that “we are analyzing the definition of the locations of the tests carried out by Cebraspe, the institute that won the tender for the application of the Enem in 2023?.
Inep also informed that “it will adopt the necessary measures to ensure that all registered participants take the tests of this edition according to the provisions established in the regulations governing the conduct of the exam”.
The exam will take place on November 5th and 12th. The locations where the tests will be administered were announced on Tuesday the 24th and sparked many complaints on social media.
Candidates declare that they will have to take the test in schools very far from home or from the place chosen as the starting point. There are cases in which the distance is close to 50 kilometers, a journey that would require more than two hours of travel.
There are reports, for example, of students who live in the Vila Mariana region, south of São Paulo, and will have to take the test in Taboão da Serra, a municipality in the metropolitan region.
