Warning, spoilers. It is recommended to watch Loki Season 2 Episode 4 before continuing reading this article.
Season 2 of Loki, which is currently streaming on Disney+, is almost coming to an end. And Episode 4, titled “TVA Heart,” marks a turning point in the series, but also in the Marvel Universe.
In this new burst of episodes, the God of Evil, played by Tom Hiddleston, continues his adventures with the TVA (Tribunal of Anachronic Variations), which governs multiverse inconsistencies and gaps in the eternal time stream.
This Loki, who has been on the run since 2012, is a cosmic anomaly, and he will try to restore balance to the multiverse with Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Sylvie, aka Lady Loki (Sofia Di Martino), one of his variants.
But TVA harbors dark secrets, as does its creator, “The One Who Remains” (a variant of which Kang the Conqueror was introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), played by Jonathan Majors.
Sylvie’s killing of “The One Who Remains” at the end of Season 1 disrupted the Eternal Time Stream and created too many new branches in the multiverse, causing the Temporal Center to reset.
The decision? Find Victor Timel, who is behind the creation of TVA and who gave birth to all his variants of “The One Who Remains”, Kang the Conqueror and many others. Locke, Mobius, Sylvie, OB (Ke Hui Quan), but also Judge Rensselaer (Gugu Mbatha-Rau) and Miss Mewts, who have “evil” plans, set out to find her.
The end of the Marvel Universe as we know it?
In Loki Season 2 Episode 4, the gang tries to take control of an overloaded TVA time center, and Victor Timely volunteers to get to the heart of it and control the temporal energy.
But the radiation was too great and Victor Timely could not control the problem in time. Then we see it disappear completely. But that’s not all, as the end of episode 4 shows us the beginning of the Eternal Temporal Stream explosion, and Loki and the others seem to “disappear” helpless in the face of the situation.
Is this the end of Loki and the Marvel Universe? The executive producer of the series, Kevin Wright, explained TheWrap That the last two episodes of Marvel fiction would be pivotal for the rest of the Marvel Universe, especially since Renslayer and Miss Minutes still exist somewhere:
“At the end of Episode 4, we don’t know where the group is, where they’re going, or if they’re alive. But if we can get that TVA back, Renslayer and Miss Minutes know what. We have to do that time and reality Get it back on track? Is Victor a key element in this?”
Therefore, the only hope of putting things back in order may lie in the future actions of Rensselaer and Miss Meutes, who have thus far been portrayed as antagonists. But are they really? Both have a great thirst for power and know that they worked for “The One Who Remains” to keep TVA running smoothly, despite the number of times he erased Rensselaer’s memory.

At least one thing is clear, the war is coming. One that will surely lead us to the planned events of Phase 6 of the MCU with the following films Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, as Kevin Wright explains:
“Reality is perhaps even more threatened today. Even without Victor Timely, the warning remains relevant: war is coming. The TVA, in Locke’s mind, was the only thing that could stand against that war and the destruction of reality.
If they somehow manage to fix reality after episode four, I’d say they still have a very serious problem to solve. And they may have just lost a very valuable tool in the person of Victor Timely, who was essential to this mission.”
The last two episodes of Loki Season 2, which Kevin Wright credits “deeply beautiful”, will be crucial to the future of the MCU. Is the timeline of the Marvel Universe as we know it gone forever? Will we discover other timelines in the multiverse?
Since the MCU’s big plans often come to fruition in Marvel movies, it’s hard to imagine such a big shakeup happening in one of the franchises. It’s more likely that the heroes, whoever they are, will manage to fix the TVA and the eternal time stream, but there will definitely be consequences, and Victor Time could return in a different form or give way to Kang.
