Famous for chocolates shaped like cigarettes and coins, the company has already sold its factory to Cacau Show; the group declared bankruptcy in February
In a new auction scheduled from 6 to 9 November, ARJ Administração e Consultoria Empresarial, judicial administrator of the bankruptcy of Chocolates in a pan, will try to sell the brand, famous for cigarettes and chocolate coins, along with the names of 30 other products in its portfolio. The Pan brand (from National Food Products) is worth R $ 27.6 million.
In the previous auction, held in September, trucks and scrap had been offered to the group’s old factory, in São Caetano do Sul, in ABC São Paulo, purchased by Cacau Show, for R $ 70 million.
The auction will be conducted by Positivo Leilões, who conducted the previous auction, and bids will be placed virtually by group websitewhere a list of names for sale is available, including Chocolápis, Balila and Bala Paulistinha.
The money raised will be used by ARJ A to repay debts owed to employees. Secured creditors and federal and state treasuries are also waiting for payments.
PAN filed for bankruptcy on February 13 this year. The company has been in judicial recovery since March 2021, but the process was unsuccessful. At the time, the company had debts of approximately R$260 million and employed 52 people. In the 1960s and 1980s there were more than 200.
The company, founded in 1935it was famous for chocolate products in formats such as cigarettes, coins, pencils and fish, as well as producing the first diet milk chocolate in Brazil.
