Focus Features has released the poster and trailer for “Lisa Frankenstein,” a gothic romantic comedy in which a teenager revives a corpse to become the perfect man in her life.
Written by Diablo Cody (“Hell Girl”), the film tells the story of a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a good-looking corpse. After she manages to bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few body parts of hers along the way.
Actress Kathryn Newton, who played Ant-Man’s daughter in the hero’s most recent film (“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”) plays Lisa with a look that combines the looks of Madonna and Winona Ryder over the years ’80, as Cole Sprouse, Jughead from “Riverdale”, brings the walking corpse back to life.
It is directed by Zelda Williams, daughter of the late actor Robin Williams (“Jumanji”), who evokes the cinema of Tim Burton in her first feature film – after gaining attention with the horror comedy “Kappa Kappa Die”, a television film by 45 minutes, in 2020.
It is scheduled to premiere on February 9 in the United States and is not yet scheduled for release in Brazil.
