Two years after 30 Days Max, Tarek Budal reprises his role as Ryan in the clumsy cop sequel, 3 Days Max. In this action comedy that pays homage to the iconic films, the actor once again surrounds himself with his gang; Philippe Lachaux, Julien Arrut, Vanessa Giddy, Elodie Fontan, and Reem Kherich.
If in the first opus the latter thought – after a medical error – that he had only 30 days left to live, here he has 3 days to try to find his grandmother (Marie-Anne Chazelle), kidnapped by a dangerous Mexican cartel. Filled with scenes worthy of American action movies, 3 days maximum is mainly about Mission: Impossible and Tom Cruise, an actor adored by Tarek Budal. It is thanks to this passion that Budali performs his own stunts.
Warning, the rest of this article contains spoilers for 3 days at most.
And the end of the movie is a direct reference to Tom Cruise movies. Ryan is eventually accepted into the Secret Service and is entrusted with his first mission through a phone booth in a cafe. After the message is sent, the latter self-destructs. While he finds his friends, the agent explains to them that he didn’t understand everything about the mission, but he has a maximum of 3 hours to complete it… thus leaving the door open for a sequel.
Maximum 3 days
Since then, viewers have been wondering if a third opus titled 3 Hours Maximum is planned. We asked the film crew about it, and although the desire is there, nothing is planned yet.
Everything will depend on the box office results Maximum 3 days and the projects of the team already engaged on Marsupillam by Philippe Lachaux. But after the filming of this comedy, which is currently being written, it is quite possible that Tarek Budal will start in 3 hours at most.
The latter also announced in the press conference: “We will see a maximum of 3 days depending on the success. Of course, for a maximum of 3 hours we can think about the film in almost real time. We can start: “Damn! We only have an hour and a half left!”.
3 Days Max is currently in theaters.
