At the Interlagos Autodrome, the 21st stage of Formula 1 will take place from 3 to 5 November, with the last F1 Sprint of the year
Next weekend, the Autódromo de Interlagos will host the Sao Paulo GP, the new name for the Brazilian F1 GP. The 21st race of the Formula 1 season will take place on Sunday 5th. The Interlagos circuit is 4,309 meters long and the race will take place over 71 laps. The total distance of the 2023 Brazilian GP will be 305.879 km.
The circuit record belongs to Valteri Bottas and was set in 2018 with a time of 1min10s540. At the Sao Paulo GP, the teams will have C2 tires as hard white, C3 as medium yellow and C4 as soft red, i.e. the middle of the Pirelli range, which involves a lot of overtaking.

Interlagos has the shortest tour of the year after Monaco and Mexico. “It is a historic track, which runs anti-clockwise, which alternates some fast sections with sequences of medium-speed corners, like Senna’s famous S,” declared Mario Isolla, Pirelli Motorsports director.

Interlagos is a track that doesn’t demand much from the tires in terms of traction and braking, as there are virtually no slow corners, just Pinheirinho and Bico de Pato. Even so, tire strategy will be important, not only in the final F1 Sprint of the season (Saturday), but also in the race (Sunday).
Given that Max Verstappen is already a three-time world champion beforehand and Red Bull has already secured the constructors’ title, the biggest focus will be on the dispute between Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) for second place. Despite the fans’ affection for the Mexican, the majority of fans will be in favor of the seven-time English champion, due to his identification with Brazil.
Pérez has more points, but is in a bad phase, while Hamilton is improving, he finished 2nd in Mexico, and will attempt victory number 104, breaking a two-year fast without climbing on the top step of the podium. In 2022 the victory went to George Russell, with Mercedes.
Verstappen is the expected world champion and has an incredible 491 points. The fight for second place sees Pérez with 240 points and Hamilton with 220 points. Then come Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso tied with 183, Lando Norris with 169, Charles Leclerc with 166 and George Russell with 151 points.
Among the teams, Red Bull is also the expected champion with 731 points. Then come Mercedes with 371, Ferrari with 349, McLaren with 256 and Aston Martin with 236 points.
