Brazil continues to climb the overall medal table of the Pan American Games in Santiago. This Monday, after winning 17 medals, three gold, eight silver and six bronze, the delegation came in second place.




With a total of 123 medals, 37 gold, 47 silver and 39 bronze, Brazil is behind only the United States, which has, in total, 171 medals (72-45-54).

The day’s three gold medals came from Tatiana Weston-Webb, in women’s shortboard surfing, Samanta Soares, in the up to 75kg category in women’s judo, and Izabela Rodrigues, in discus throw.

The eight silvers were won by Andressa Oliveira, in the discus throw, Luis Diniz, in the men’s SUP surfing, Aline Adisaka, in the women’s SUP surfing, Chloe Calmon, in the women’s longboard, Rafael Macedo, in the judo category up to 90 kg. , Eliane Martins, in the long jump, and by Bruna Takahashi and Vitor Ishiy, in the table tennis mixed doubles.

Brazil won another silver medal in athletics, in the 4×400 medley relay, with the team made up of Douglas Mendes, Leticia Maria, Lucas Conceição and Tiffani Domingos.

Finally, the other six medals were bronze, with judokas Kayo Santos (under 100 kg men), Beatriz Souza (over 78 kg women) and Rafael Silva (over 100 kg men). In fencing, Alexandre Camargo (men’s individual épée) and Mariana Pistoia (women’s individual foil) also won bronze, as did Carlos Bahia, in men’s longboard.
