The premiere of “Five Nights at Freddy’s – The Endless Nightmare” broke a record over the weekend in Brazilian cinemas. The film collected R$20.3 million and was seen by 1.07 million people between Thursday and Sunday (10/29), according to data from consultancy Comscore.

With this, Universal’s production has become the biggest horror premiere of 2023 in Brazil.

Even in the United States, “Five Nights At Freddy’s” dominated the box office, grossing $80 million and being far ahead of other productions. Worldwide, the debut of the horror video game adaptation generated $132.6 million in its first weekend.

The rest of the Top 5

Numbers approximately eight times higher than those of the second most watched film of the period, the animated film “Trolls 3 – Together Again”, which had 131 thousand spectators and grossed R$ 2.77 million.

In 3rd place was “Assassins of the Flower Moon”, the western by Martin Scorsese, with grosses of R$ 2.18 million and 83 thousand spectators.
