Poltergeist is rebooted as a TV series

According to Variety, the franchise Poltergeist just got another installment, but as a reboot in a TV series format. According to the portal, the production is in a very early stage of development, as it has not yet hired a screenwriter and should be under the responsibility of Amazon MGM Studios.

Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper, Poltergeist: the phenomenon (1982) is considered a classic. It was truly a “phenomenon” at the box office, grossing $121 million globally and earning three nominations at the 1983 Oscars.

Together, the three films in the series have grossed more than $210 million worldwide. In addition to the sequels, the franchise also gave rise to the series Poltergeist: The Legacy (1996-1999). With four seasons, the production followed the story of the members of the secret society known as Legacy, a paranormal group that investigated cases around the world to protect humanity.
