After a period of beta testing, a multiplayer game made by Battlefield veterans has won 200,000 fans
The multiplayer shooter market has always been one of the most competitive and dominated by medallions such as Call of Duty, Counter-Strike and Battlefield. But from time to time a new competitor appears in the arena and 2024 seems to be the promise The finals.
At least that’s what the game’s popularity indicates. Embark on studies, which reached the 200,000 player mark in the open beta test on Steam at the end of October. These users liked what they saw (and tested) and now the game has become the most anticipated game on the PC gaming platform.
Announced in 2022, The Finals is a free-to-play multiplayer shooter with highly destructible environments and a focus on competitive play. The game is developed by Battlefield veterans, who, at least from the sample available in the test, demonstrate that they know what they are doing very well.
The finals have several game modes, including Unranked Tournament (loot mode where four teams of three compete to find boxes and deposit them into safes), Ranked Tournament (loot mode with four teams of three in a 48-player ranked tournament format ), Quick Cash (which are longer games, faster respawn timers, faster draw times), among others.

The mechanics of shooting and handling weapons, movement and, above all, scene destruction are the highlights of the game. There is still a lot of work before launch, especially to ensure stable servers even with so many players.
Another detail that could be worked on better in the coming months are the character classes, which are quite simple. It’s clear that Embark focused more on the (awesome) maps and game modes than on the abilities of each class. They differ in terms of weapon options and some accessories, but have different customization possibilities.
You can still participate in the beta test and experience the finals for yourself. The test will last until November 5th and after that there is no exact release date for The Finals. Although it also makes noise on PC, the beta is also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Playable for free, The Finals will have versions for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
