Abel Ferreira has reinforcements in midfield
Palmeiras achieved a very important return by facing Botafogo this Wednesday (1), in Engenhão, in a match valid for the 31st round of the Brasileirão 2023.
After serving a suspension against Bahia, midfielder Zé Rafael is expected to be among the 11 starters who will face the league leaders, in a match that could put Verdão once and for all in title contention.
With the return of the number 8, Abel Ferreira should not have too many difficulties climbing Verdão, who will duel for the first time with Glorioso on the new synthetic pitch in Engenhão. To face Botafogo, Palmeiras must repeat the team that beat rival San Paolo and defeated Bahia, with: Weverton; Mayke, Gustavo Gómez, Luan, Murilo and Piquerez; Richard Ríos, Zé Rafael and Raphael Veiga; Endrick and Breno Lopes.
Alviverde has six points less than the Brasileirão leader – despite the Rio team having one game less in the standings – and seeks to reduce the difference to three, in case of victory. The dance will start at 9.30pm, at the Botafoguense house.
