50% shark, 50% octopus, 100% nanar: this is a Chinese shark trailer! A remake worse than the original movie?

Children are in fashion! Following Barbenheimer’s announcement, the comedy, which will reunite Barbie and Oppenheimer, finds Sharktopus, the next Chinese remake of the American drama of the same name.

On the boat, the group is attacked by a strange hybrid beast, half-shark, half-octopus.”: Here’s what awaits you in the upcoming film, revealed here in the first trailer you need to discover immediately!

Never heard of Sharktopus? Probably because the original TV franchise, like real crap, isn’t exactly successful – far from it!

In the 2010 first made-for-TV movie of the same name, produced for SyFy, we find a shark mated with a giant octopus created for the military using genetic manipulation to sow fear in the oceans. The scientist behind this abomination then tried to stop the monster at all costs.

  • Darth Vader with tongue hair? This is one of the worst movies of all time!

Rated 1.2 out of 5 by Allociné viewers (110 total ratings), Sharktopus The original, starring Declan O’Brien and Eric Roberts, mixed horror, sci-fi and low-budget with (minor) success.

Since then, the monster has faced two other (legendary?) hybrid monsters in its sequels: Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda in 2014 (a cross between a pterodactyl and a barracuda) and Sharktopus vs Whalewolf in 2015 (half killer whale or orca, half wolf), still on SyFy.

The idea is now being considered by Chinese directors Shi-Xing Xu and Dong-Sheng Hu, who are also handling the franchise. Will the remake be better or worse? Watch the first trailer to get an idea!
