The funniest film of all time, according to study

Research carried out by OnBuy Movies was based on reviews published on IMDb, one of the main cinema portals

To forget your problems or even satirize reality: there is nothing better than a good dose of humor. The best thing about comedy is that, unlike other genres, there is no “ideal” model or rules to follow – but a survey by the website OnBuyMovies study managed to prove which is the funniest production of all time.

The research, published on Far Out Magazineused information contained in IMDb, one of the main portals with databases of films and TV series on the internet, to create a metric and discover the answer.

Based on IMDb data, it was possible to filter the best 125 comedies ever made – based on features with an average rating above six and which had the keyword “funny” and related terms. Next, we analyzed which films had the best ratings and the greatest presence of “funny” and similar words in user reviews.

Check out the Top 3 funniest films of all time below, based on the metric developed by OnBuyMovies:

  1. Superbad – It’s Today (2007), with 250 reviews that contained the word “funny” and similar terms;
  2. Deadpool (2016) with more than 233 reviews;
  3. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), which accumulated 230 evaluations.
