In the exciting universe of game of Thronesfans can now celebrate: the new series based on the stories of Dunk and Egg, A king of the seven kingdomsfilming is expected to begin between March and May 2024. However, the start date may be subject to the outcome of the Hollywood actors’ strike.
Author George R.R. Martin will serve as a writer and executive producer on the series, teaming with Ira Parker, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis.
The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Martin has published three novels in the Tales of Dunk and Egg series: The Errant Knight (1998), The sworn sword (2003) e The mysterious knight (2010). The stories were compiled in 2015 under the title The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
The series A king of the seven kingdoms OR The Knight of the Seven Kingdomsin direct translation, it is based on Martin’s short stories, set in the world of Westeros, set approximately a century before the events of the original series.
New derivative
Furthermore The House of the Dragonwhich is in post-production for its second season, the franchise game of Thrones will expand further with a new derivative called TO SNOW, centered on the character Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington). However, there is no release date.
Actors’ strike
It’s worth noting that the start date depends on the outcome of the Hollywood actors’ strike, which has been in place since May.
The strike has the following demands: higher wages with streaming studios; improvement of work routine; copyright of images, reservations about the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in content production, the latter being one of the most debated points.
