The tournament takes place from January to June and brings together clubs from all the states of the region; Ceará is the current champion
A Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) revealed this Tuesday, 7, the dates of Northeast Cup 2024the country’s main regional competition. The main novelty is the attention that the body has dedicated to the other tournaments: there will not be a clash of dates between the ‘Lampions League’ and the 2024 State Championships. The preliminary phase – pre Copa do Nordeste – will begin on January 7 , while the final is reserved for June 9th.
Ceará is the current champion. Besides him, 11 other teams are already guaranteed in the group stage. In the preliminary phase, another 16 will compete for the last four places in the competition. The nine states of the region will be represented. In 2023, R$42 million was distributed among all teams that competed in the tournament; champion, Ceará received R$6 million from the CBF.
Two months before the start of the first phase, the Estadao brings together the main information on the Copa do Nordeste. Check out the competition dates, ranked teams, prizes and all the champions in the tournament’s history below.
