Positive cuts 2023 gross revenue projection to between R$4.6 billion and R$4.8 billion

Positivo Tecnologia reported this Monday that it has revised its gross revenue projection for 2023 to between 4.6 billion reais and 4.8 billion reais, according to a relevant fact.

Previously, the estimate for the year was between 5.5 and 6.5 billion reais.

“The macroeconomic backdrop remains challenging, with continued high interest rates hitting major retailers even harder as they seek to reduce their inventories and tighten their purchasing conditions,” the company explains.

According to the company, the macroeconomic environment also puts pressure on “small and medium-sized businesses, which in turn suffer from credit constraints and, as a result, reduce their demand for purchasing and replacing hardware.”

Another factor putting pressure on the company’s revenue is the worsening drought in the state of Amazonas, which has impacted river and sea logistics, “damaging the receipt and flow of inputs in the free trade zone of Manaus”.

“The impact here is primarily the postponement of some deliveries to early 2024 for government contracts and corporate customers, with a smaller portion in possible sales losses for small and medium-sized businesses and retail, as products may not be delivered in time for the Black Friday and Christmas campaigns,” the company added in the fact.

Positivo also cited the fact that delays in the appointments of some management positions in the public sector are “postponing hiring and new tenders, even if this event can be considered normal in years of major management changes”.
