A man arrested in Porto Alegre with explosives and drugs


The arrest took place in the early hours of the morning in the Rubem Berta neighborhood; the suspect had a criminal record and was on the run from the prison system

In the early hours of this Tuesday (14/11), military police officers from the 20th Military Police Battalion arrested a 25-year-old man in the Rubem Berta neighborhood, in Porto Alegre. The individual was arrested on charges of drug trafficking and possession of explosive devices. The items seized included a stick of marijuana, two precision scales, two fuses, three emulsion cartridges and approximately 30 centimeters of detonating cord.




In addition to the initial charges, the investigation revealed that the man had a criminal record and was on the run from the prison system. After the discovery, the location was immediately cordoned off and the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) was called in to deal with the explosives. The specialized team detonated the fuses on site and proceeded to transport the remaining explosives to a suitable area for their destruction.

The coordinated action between the authorities aimed to ensure the safety of the region in the face of the possession of these dangerous materials. The suspect has been arrested and taken appropriate legal action, while authorities continue to investigate the case to identify possible links or other people involved.
