The New Zealander then embarked on another epic adventure: the film adaptation of JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, which established him as a sure bet in Hollywood.
Based on these successes, he eventually decides to re-read King Kong, paying special respect to the classic that inspired him to set his 1933 film.

This, of course, is the greatest quality of this disproportionate feature film: in the spectacular fight scenes and the magnificent environment, it never forgets to give body and soul to the giant primate, surrounded by a five-star cast (Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody).
