Percy Jackson’s epic trailer: 10 years after the last installment, the fantasy saga becomes a series

The last time the character of Percy Jackson appeared on the screens was in 2013 in Sea of Monsters, a continuation of the first part three years earlier.

Today, Logan Lerman, the hero of the literary saga, is portrayed by a new actor – Walker Scobell – and returns as a series on Disney+. The 8-episode program planned for the end of the year is revealed through a new trailer.

The visuals are fairly faithful to the books, combining an epic adventure with a mythological background with an educational story. It’s also an opportunity to learn more about the creatures, including Medusa, who makes a stealthy appearance.

Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy, the son of Poseidon, must learn to manage his situation as a half-man, half-god by joining a camp for young men like him. His two friends, a satyr named Grover and Annabeth, daughter of Athena, accompany him on his first mission: to find the stolen lightning bolt of Zeus.

Dissatisfied with film adaptations, novelist Rick Riordan actively participated in the design of this program. He wrote the script and acted as producer.

It’s still too early to speculate on the future of the series – everything will depend on its success – but Disney is already thinking about a plan for five seasons – each adapting a book from the saga.
