The players of the Czech national team go out in the evening and are expelled

One day before the decisive match against Moldova, three players from the Czech Republic (the current name of the Czech Republic) were sent off after being caught on a night out. Jakub Brabec, Vladimír Coufal and Jan Kuchta played against Poland on Saturday (18/11) at their opponents’ home ground, the National Stadium in Warsaw. And the match ended 1-1.

So, after the dispute, the team went to the hotel and the goal was to rest before facing Moldova, this Monday (20/11). But the three athletes decided to go out and celebrate. Brabec was even walking drunk in the middle of the street and needed to be supported, as images circulating on social media show.

Who are the players of the evening

Defender of Aris Salónica, in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece, Jakub Brabec was born in Prague, the Czech capital, on 6/8/1992 and is therefore 31 years old. He has so far played 41 matches for the national team and scored 2 goals. He is the number 4 of the team.

Shirt number 11 Jan Kuchta, born in Liberec on 01/08/1997, has been a center forward for Sparta Prague since July this year. He had previously spent time at the club, but on loan. This time, however, Russian club Lokomotiv sold him for 2.5 million euros (R$13 million). At 26 he played 20 matches for the national team, scoring 3 goals.

Full-back Vladimir Coufal, 31 years old, number 5, is originally from the Czech city of Ostrava, where he was born on 08/22/1992. Since 2020 he has played for West Ham, England. He has 40 matches for the Czech national team, with 1 goal.

Unexpected challenge on the eve of a decisive match

The behavior of the players, which led to their expulsion, forces coach Jaroslav Silhavy to face a challenge that was not foreseen. Therefore, the veteran coach, who is 62 years old and has led his country’s national team since 2018, will have to change the starting lineup at a crucial moment for the Czech Republic.

Moreover, the team has 12 points in the standings, just 2 points below the leaders of Group E, Albania led by Brazilian coach Sylvinho, while Moldova has just 10 points, in fourth place. Therefore, to guarantee qualification for the European Championship, it is enough that the Czechs do not lose the match. In other words, a simple draw is enough. But, given the absence of the three starters, the concern grows.
