We have collected 6 tips for renovating your home in a short time. Is there still time to renovate your home in view of the Christmas holidays? Experts give advice

The end of the year is, traditionally, the time to think about home renovations. New year, renewed environment. Even though the Christmas and New Year holidays are just over 40 days away, plans should not be postponed. DIÁRIO DO RIO listened to three experts and collected 6 essential tips.

According to Bianca Colussi, CEO of Colussi Engenharia, tackling the project will depend on the objective the client has with the work.

“If the customer opts for a structural renovation, the times are very short. But, if it is something related to the finishes, it is certainly feasible. We recently made improvements to a bathroom in just three days. In the internal part a illuminated niche, the shower, worktop and sink were replaced, as well as the installation of new LED profile lights, which were very popular in the decor. The customer was very happy to be able to “debut” in the renovated house in 2023″ , says Bianca, who has been operating on the market for ten years.

Architect Andréa Gorayeb suggests taking advantage of the Black Friday promotions. “You can invest in carpet, lamps (lighting changes the environment enormously), cushions. Changing the environment with paints, different colors is also a great tip. Paint a whole wall, half a wall. Everything always needs a project to evaluate what the person has, choose furniture that can remain in the environment and make this design with these other elements that are easy and quick to install”, adds the architect.

Fernando Favilla, architect and partner of Entegrare Construções Sustentáveis, also underlines the importance that the work has a rigorous planning, regardless of the size and deadline for completion: “A well-planned project is essential to guarantee the success of the renovation. From definition of the objectives up to the choice of materials and execution, each step requires careful attention. The quality of the work is intrinsically linked to its organization.” A specialist in sustainable and optimized projects, he adds: “In a sustainable project with a limited time frame, prioritizing initiatives that offer immediate impact is crucial. Choosing eco-friendly building materials, such as water-based paints and flooring recycled, they are not only promotes sustainability, but also speeds up the execution of the job, since many of these materials are easy to apply.”

1- Use wallpaper – The most popular ones are linen wallpapers, which add a different and sophisticated texture to the environment. They work well in living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. It is a quick and economical option compared to covering the wall, for example, with porcelain stoneware or ceramic tiles.

2- Invest in paint: choose pastel tones, which are a classic. Serene White and Cockatiel are also interesting colors, as are earth tones, as a way to vary. The advice is to always think about everything.

3- Lighting is the secret – Indirect lighting, both from moldings and lampshades. LED profiles are considered an excellent choice, especially when they are recessed, which are environmentally friendly, illuminate well, are discreet and simple to install.

4- Avoid paving after paving – Believing that the process is faster is pure illusion. Experts draw attention to the problems that can arise if the previous flooring is not installed correctly or is in poor condition.

5- Demolition – This is an extremely economical phase of the work and, with the right professionals, it doesn’t even take two days to complete.

6- Choose sustainable materials – Materials such as reforested wood, eco-friendly paints and thermal insulation made from recycled materials are options that, in addition to being quick to implement, promote the sustainability of the project as a whole. This approach not only speeds up the construction process, but also aligns the project with environmentally conscious practices.
