Next December, Netflix will release “Matilda,” a musical version of the novel by Roald Dali, already adapted in 1996 by Danny DeVito. The Oscar-winning actor in casting gives his characteristics to a terrible director. And he is unknowable.
The world of Roald Dali continues to inspire Hollywood. While Willie Wonka’s character will have his prequel to Timothy Shalam in 2023, a new adaptation of Matilda is coming to the screens. The movie expected on Netflix next December will be different from the 1996 version produced by Danny DeVito as it will be entirely musical.
The first pictures were posted by the platform and in the skin of the principal of the tyrannical school, Agatha Legordin, we find Emma Thompson. A true chameleon, a British man unidentified in an antagonist costume who practices shooting Javelin by shooting schoolgirl girls in the air.
From nanny McPhee to the role of an enlightened professor in Harry Potter, the translator always had a certain taste of physical transformation, not afraid of hours of makeup.

In MatildaEmma Thompson, more scary than ever, seems to have a field day. She has already played the big villain in Disney Cruella with Emma Stone in 2021. For this new film, she is surrounded by Lashana Lynch (the dying can wait) for Miss Candy and Alicia Weir, who stars.
Directed by Matthew Varchus, Matilda tells the story of a unique little girl who has extraordinary powers. Coming from a complex family, he can rely on his teacher, a gentle and understanding woman, to take him under his wing.
