Paul Rudd talks about diet for ‘Ant-Man’ and reveals: ‘Chris Hemsworth ate porridge out of a Tupperware’

Paul Rudd had to go on a strict diet to play Ant-Man in the Marvel films

Paul Rudd suffered when he had to go on a diet to play Ant-Man in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. “When I was training for the Ant-Man movie and I was on a very strict diet, my reward was sparkling water,” the actor confessed on the podcast Off Menu (via NME), presented by Ed Gamble It is James Acaster.

“That’s how horrible the diet was. I was like, ‘Okay, now have some sparkling water, I deserve it,'” he continued. Rudd He further revealed that he did this for all the Marvel films and that, over time, it became easier: “Once you’re in, it’s not very difficult.” The diet, although “boring,” offered him “tons of energy.”

Acaster asked if other Marvel actors would “compare notes” when working together on a feature film. “I think people kind of do, but I also think that I train the most, I eat the best, and I look the worst. I have to work out all the time, eat perfectly, just to look kind of bad. It’s not even great”, replied the actor.

“But everyone was fighting with each other? Was everyone hungry?” Gamble returned. “I don’t know… I remember that, in the Avengers: Endgame, Chris Hemsworth I ate porridge in a Tupperware, just a puree of something,” he said. Rudd.

“He’s working out, and then you stand next to a guy like that, and I just think, ‘Well, what’s the point of all this? Why am I killing myself when it could exist, and then I look at myself and it exists. I’ll never achieve that… That was the good part — Ant-Man, not Thor. But I tried working out and it didn’t work.”
