Streaming service Netflix has published the first trailer for the upcoming feature biopic about the life and work of the great Marilyn Monroe, played by the 34-year-old Blade Runner 2049 star and simply charming Cuban Ana de Armas. The tape was called “Blonde”, and, apparently, for the role de Armas really had to lighten her luxurious raven hair. However, even if it is a wig, it is really difficult to distinguish the actress from the famous prototype in the frame – they have become so similar thanks to light curls and professional makeup.
The screenplay of the film was based on the bestseller Joyce Carol Oates of the same name. The action of the novel takes place in the 1950s and 1960s and covers the main stages of the formation of Norma Jean Baker, known to the whole world as Marilyn Monroe, in the status of an icon of cinema of the 20th century.
The biographical drama was directed and written by Andrew Dominik, and Ana de Armas’ partners on the set were Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Caspar Phillipson, Toby Huss, Sarah Paxton and others.
The premiere of “Blonde” is scheduled for the coming summer and will officially take place at the Venice Film Festival. And in the fall, on September 23, the film will be available on the Netflix platform.
