The president of the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), confirmed, in a note, that the hearing of Paulo Gonet, appointed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the General Prosecutor’s Office (PGR) , will take place on December 13th.
Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), head of government in the Senate, will be the rapporteur for Gonet’s nomination to the PGR. On the same day, Flávio Dino, chosen by Lula for the Federal Supreme Court, will be questioned by CCJ senators. Their nominations must be approved by the Senate plenary with at least 41 votes of parliamentarians.
Lula confirmed Dino and Gonet’s appointments this Monday 27th, before embarking towards Saudi Arabia, where he will make his first stop before heading to Dubai for COP28.
