Portuguese in the 2nd phase of Fuvest 2024
While the Fuvest test is known for its content-based approach, its exams have gained traction in recent years a more interpretive character and this could be reflected in the Portuguese test.
Among the many subjects that can be covered in the test, Professor Liliane Negrão highlighted for the Fuvest testmorphological classification analyzed in different contexts, Verbs and syntactic analysis.
Regarding literature, Professor André Barbosa said:
have the presence of famous works that did not appear in the first phase, such as “Quincas Borba”, by Machado de Assis, “Angústia”, by Graciliano Ramos, and “Romanceiro da Inconfidência”, by Cecília Meireles
The educator also drew attention to new works such as “We killed the little dog!”by Luis Bernardo Honwana.
History
Professor Marcus Vinicius recommends spending time on The history of the United States and the Cold War. In addition to these two specific contents, the trainer states that the test will also explore contemporary themes and their respective connections with some historical moments.
It is recommended that candidates know how to speak and situate themselves historically the following communities: indigenous populations, Africans, women, peripheral areas, workers and the LGBTQIA+ movement. Check a question from the history test 2nd phase of last year’s Fuvest:
Resolutions:
-
The king and his court occupy a central space compared to the rest of society. This is evident in the image, as the people prostrate themselves on the ground before the king, who sits on a throne beneath a suspended altar.
-
The presence of a crown, a scepter, a canopy above the throne, the cross in front of the king and the
the royal cloak.
-
The image places Europeans at a lower level than African authorities, indicating deference and a search for mutual understanding. In the background you can also see a European and an African holding hands.
Geography
Professor Daniel Simões highlighted the following arguments for the Geography test of the 2nd phase of Fuvest 2024:
-
Urbanization: especially in emerging countries, which occurred in a disorderly manner and generated consequences such as congestion, floods, housing problems and landslides in residential areas.
-
World population: the fact that it is in a demographic transition, towards stability and the trend towards aging of the population in each country, as well as the consequences of this on the pension and healthcare systems.
-
Agriculture: both to identify Brazilian agricultural circuits and to talk about environmental problems linked to agriculture, such as land conflicts and, also, because agribusiness has a very strong economic impact for Brazil.
The educator also told us that Fuvest appreciates issues related to urbanization more than other educational institutions. So it is worth paying more attention to this topic.
The educator concludes by drawing attention toto contemporary environmental and social debates which can be developed in the geography questions of the 2nd phase of the Fuvest:
Indigenous peoples, national parks, environmental and extractive reserves, mining activities and also other economic activities that have some impact on the region, deforestation and agricultural frontiers can be questioned
