YouTube Playables: the free gaming service arrives with 30 more games

YouTube Playables is now available to Premium subscribers. Users will be able to enjoy more than 30 minigames online, without having to download any additional content. The new feature arrives for Android, iOS and desktop.

The company said the games are part of a series of experiments. Therefore, YouTube Premium subscribers will only have access to the games until March 28, 2024.

To access “YouTube Playables” titles, simply access the “Game Room” section by swiping to the “Home” tab or using the “Game Room” link in the “Explore” menu. The process can be done via computers and mobile devices.

The first wave of games brings works like Pscience, crossword, Angry Birds Showdown, Merge Pirates, Farmland, Words of Wonder, Endless Siege, Classic 8-Ball Pool and Brain Out.

As the gaming industry remains among the most profitable in the world, several companies are trying to enter this market. Netflix, for example, already offers many games to its subscribers.

Since 2022, TikTok has also been testing HTML5-based minigames. However, ByteDance, owner of the short video app, decided to reduce its gaming division and carry out a mass layoff.
