Le Temps d’aimer.

Presented at Cannes in the Cannes Premiere section, Le Temps d’aimer is a new work by Cattel Quilleur (Susannah, Repairing the Living, The World of Tomorrow…). This romantic fresco has already won an acting award for Vincent Lacoste, who shows himself here in a completely different way from his comic roles. Internet users particularly highlight the interpretation qualities among the strengths of the film.

They liked it

Paul D. (4.5/5):A wonderful melodrama perfectly played by Anais Demostier and Vincent Lacoste, very precise and exciting.”

Emilie007 (4.5/5): “I managed to review this movie and I absolutely recommend you go. This 20 year old mural is absolutely brilliant and very sophisticated. I had many emotions and in places I did not expect, thanks to the very delicate precision of the staging and the exquisite acting of Vincent Lacoste and Anais Demostier. A great movie that amazes with its modern style and the very modern themes it deals with.

Veronique Cockayne (5/5):This sensitive film carefully explores the psychology of characters branded by society. Katell Quillévéré accurately portrays the fate of women, the complexity of motherhood, sexuality and the couple. Identity issues make us think about our current society. The cast is fabulous and it’s hard to leave these two characters behind.”

They liked it less or didn’t like it

Ink T (3/5): ”The plot is charming and the romantic mural is quite beautiful, but it’s a shame that the inner world of the characters is not explored and very important topics are only used as an excuse for the story..”

Korbô D (3/5):A little long and overly wise melodrama. It is still well defined by Demostier and Lacoste, but nothing transcendental. Some beautiful scenes, sometimes sensual, sometimes funny. But it is too long, too soft and too “written”.

Math719 (2/5):Even if some moments are good, everything moves quite slowly, I don’t feel or touch, we stay outside the movie and it’s all quite disappointing. I found Vincent Lacoste behind the film and not so realistic. In the end, we’re definitely left wanting more, as if we’re telling a great story, but not too disturbing, despite the sentiments on display. Harm!
