Walking Dead: Norman Reedus chose this French actor himself for Daryl Dixon’s series

A new series based on The Walking Dead, created by the fictional Daryl Dixon and based on the hugely popular character played by Norman Reedus, airs from November 10 on Paramount+ in France.

This spin-off pays homage to France as Daryl Dixon finds himself on our soil! The Waking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the hero played by Norman Reedus, will do anything to return home. But before he can hope to find his community, Darryl must cross France on a mission to protect Laurent (Louis Puech Chiglioz), the child who is considered the Messiah in this apocalyptic context.

  • Daryl Dixon: The Walking Dead spin-off was filmed in France, but where exactly?

With the help of Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), a fighter operating under religious cover, and Sylvie (Laïka Blanc-Francard), Daryl must travel to France to bring Laurent to safety so he can save humanity.

It was chosen by French actor Norman Reedus

As the episodes progress, Daryl takes Laurent under his wing and treats his little protégé with great compassion and love. In order for this relationship to appear authentic on screen, it was necessary to find a young actor who could create some chemistry with the American star.

That’s why Norman Reedus chose Louis Pueche Shiglio himself, as the 14-year-old actor explained in an interview:

“It’s my best friend’s aunt who knows the casting director. He worked with him for about fifteen years. He said that he knew me and that I spoke English. So I passed the first exam, then the second.

And on the third try, Norman came. We improvised for several hours. We talked, we took video recordings. I remember that there was already a strong connection between the two of us from the first time we saw each other.”

For Norman Reedus, Louis Pueche Schieleuse then became the obvious choice for the role of Laurent, as the actor confirmed. TéléLoisirs :

“I noticed right away during the casting, it was obvious to me that he had to get the part. He’s not an expressive kid who comes in and puts on a show. He’s quiet, he observes a lot. He was funny to work with. Because he looked at me a lot at first, like he never shot, he was very He imitated me.”

And the two actors shared many intense scenes, some of which were more emotionally challenging than others, such as the scene where Laurent stops Daryl from leaving her on the boat that was supposed to take them to Mont Saint-Michel.
