Netflix announced it this Tuesday (5). Criminal DNA, a Brazilian series launched on November 14 on the platform, has been officially renewed for a second season. The production is the first national police action to be streamed and has gained global prominence.

Criminal DNA follows two federal police officers in a complex investigation into a major robbery at a securities insurance company in Paraguay. Using DNA samples, the team begins to find loose ends in the bank robbing gang, while also connecting them to other crimes in Brazil and an even bigger criminal plan.

The cast of the Brazilian crime series includes Rômulo Braga (Coal), Maeve Jinkings (The others), Pedro Caetano (Verdict) and Thomas Aquinas (Nightjar).
Despite the announcement of the renewal for a second season, Netflix has not provided further details on the continuation, including dates, plot or cast.
The first season of Criminal DNA remains available on Netflix.
