Amazon Prime Video is preparing a film about actor and comedian Paulo Gustavo. Titled “Mother’s Son,” the project aims to bring together footage from the comedian’s tours and archival footage from his family.
The project began to develop even before the artist’s death and will also include testimonies from professionals and close friends, as well as, of course, his mother, Déa Lúcia, and the widower, the dermatologist Thales Bretas.
Among the participations, the actresses and friends Mônica Martelli and Ingrid Guimarães are confirmed. Other artists will also be sought by the platform to sign a contract for the release of the exhibition of their images.
Paulo Gustavo died on May 4, 2021, after about two months in hospital from complications caused by covid-19. One of Brazil’s most successful comedians, he conceived and starred in the country’s highest-grossing film, “Minha Mãe é uma Peça 3”. His character in this franchise, Dona Hermínia, was inspired by his mother.
