The series based on the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” has its first trailer

The Prime Video platform has released the first trailer for the series based on the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”. The preview shows the titular couple meeting and sharing missions, lying to everyone about what they really do.

Just like the 2005 film, the series revolves around John and Jane Smith, a seemingly normal couple hiding a secret. The two are hitmen hired by rival companies and the truth comes to light only when, unknowingly, they are tasked with killing the other. The cast includes Donald Glover (“Atlanta”) and Maya Erskine (“PEN15”), who play the protagonist couple, played in the cinema by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

In addition to them, the cast includes many famous people, including Wagner Moura (“The Shining”), Alexander Skarsgard (“The Northman”), Parker Posey (“Lost in Space”), Eiza González (“The Fast and the Furious: Hobbs & Shaw”), Ron Perlman (“Children of Anarchy”), Michaela Coel (“I May Destroy You”), Sharon Horgan (“Catastrophe”), Sarah Paulson (“American Horror Story”), Úrsula Corberó ( “La Casa de Papel”), John Turturro and Paul Dano (both from “Batman”).

In addition to acting, Glover writes the screenplays with Francesca Sloane, who worked with the actor on “Atlanta” and is a co-creator of the project.

The first will take place on February 2, 2024.
