When asked about the future of Formula 1, the Dutchman revealed that, in the next 10 years, he doesn’t see himself competing in category competitions and that the sport needs to evolve when it comes to sustainability. “The gas will probably run out. But our sport is about to become greener and more sustainable. Only one thing is certain: Max Verstappen will be no more!”, he explained.
Under contract with the team Red Bull effective until the end of 2028, Verstappen was asked if he believes Honda’s return as Aston Martin’s engine supplier in 2026 could disrupt the hegemony of his team, which will now have its own engine.
“A difficult question. With a question mark. But in Milton Keynes hundreds of people are working on this project. We don’t want to be unprepared in 2026. We all hope it’s a rocket, we’ll see” he underlined.
